"Love" Anniversary Card with Handcrafted Flowers for Donna Salazar Designs

Hi my dear friends!! Wishing you a happy Friday. I hope you have some papercrafting plans for this weekend!! I'll be creating with some lovely church gals on Saturday. 

Our son and his beautiful wife have their five year wedding anniversary coming up, so I've created a card to celebrate this special event. Joseph loves to fish and Rachel encourages him in his endeavors. When Joseph realized that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, he planned a boat ride (in his bass boat of course) on the lake under a starlit night sky to ask her to marry him. Then last year they found their dream home on that very lake. So when I found this vintage image of a fun and loving couple on a boat, I knew it would be perfect for this anniversary card.

"The Alamo Archways" Mixed Media Layout for Donna Salazar Designs

Hi my dear crafty friends! I have a new Creative Team project for Donna Salazar Designs with a girlie grunge layout featuring some of her Spellbinder and Donna Salazar with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products.

Gary and I recently took a trip to the lovely city of San Antonio, Texas. While there we visited the site of the Alamo filled with rich history. This long archway struck me with it's beauty. I've been working my way through using all 20 of Donna's fabulous new Spellbinder products released last month. I've tucked a die cut created with her Cascading Stars etched die under and next to the photo. So perfect to give a patriotic touch. Of course you know how much I enjoy creating hand crafted flowers, so have also paired Donna's new Big Blossom and Jumbo Rose dies with her classic Bitty Blossoms and Rose creations for these girlie grunge flowers. I've added grungy color by mixing Donna Salazar with Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L Pigment Powders into her Girlie Grunge Art Medium. I have a project up on the Donna Salazar Designs blog featuring more of her fab new Spellbinders products. Bitty Blossoms have long been one of my favorite die sets. I used them so much, that I purchased a second set so I could cut more at a time. So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw that Donna's new dies included Big Blossom, the next size up from her Bitty Blossoms dies. "Strength of My Life" Artist Trading Card for Donna Salazar

I tried something brand new - for me this week. I created an artist trading card featuring Donna Salazar's gorgeous products. I like working with ample space for lots of techniques and lovely elements, so wasn't sure how working in such a small space would be. However, as you will see, I was still able to implement my signature girlie grunge style. I'm eager to hear what you think!!

"Bless the Lord" Ironwork Cross for Donna Salazar Designs Featuring Bitty Blossoms

Christmas is nearly upon us. I hope that you are having a wonderful holiday season. I have a project to share with you today featuring Donna Salazar Designs products.

One of the things I enjoy about the holidays is creating one of a kind, handcrafted gifts. Today I have a trash to treasure gift to share with you. I found this ironwork cross for a dollar at a local thrift shop and decorated it with handcrafted flowers created with Donna's Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms dies.

Tips and Techniques

I have a stash of bitty blossom flowers created with project scraps, so this was a quick holiday project to pull together. A tutorial for my Bitty Blossoms Flowers can be found here. I used all three sizes of Bitty Blossoms. I adhered the blossoms to the ironwork cross with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

I printed out this verse from Word Art Wednesday onto white cardstock, tore it out, and rubbed several colors of Mix'd Media Inx on to coordinate with the flowers. I backed it with a strip of chipboard to hold it's shape and backed with foam tabs to raise before gluing onto the cross. 

Once I had the flowers and Word Art arranged and adhered to the cross, I applied Clearsnap Glue Gloss and sprinkled with Donna's Fairy Dust Glitter which adds so much gorgeous sparkle!
