Thinking of You Mixed Media Spring Card for Studio75 DT March Challenge

I am ready for the warmer temperatures and beautiful fragrant blossoms that come with spring. This sweet mixed media card features the gorgeous Studio75 Violet Love Collection along with chipboard and stamen from the Studio75 Store.

Tips and Techniques

I arranged Little Birdie Crafts flowers from A.C. Moore, fussy cut flowers, stamen, chipboard, diecuts, gems, pearls, molded feathers, white feather, and lace onto the card. 

I like to start with the larger/heavier items in the cluster center and work outward with smaller items to create balance and interest. 

The lavender chipboard piece and jewelry piece at the top of the cluster are layered with two embossing powders. First the lighter Lindy's Pop Rock Purple, then lightly sprinkled with the darker Iced Enamels Amethyst Relique Powder to get a two toned effect.

I just adore that the Studio75 paper collections include such gorgeous images to fussy cut. You can see the beautiful lavender flowers and coordinating leaves that I tucked into the top corner of the cluster.

The diecut flower is something I cut quite a while back on my Silhouette Cameo. I keep a file of any leftover odds and ends I cut and this one was perfect for this card. I sprayed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Mists in Bodacious Blush and Magnolia Magenta Gold.

Don't you just adore texture? Here I've used Bambino Glue to add Prills and chunky glass glitter to add an extra touch of texture. 

I molded the feathers with Creative Paper Clay in a slicone mold I found on Amazon. I brushed them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Mists in Bodacious Blush, Magnolia Magenta Gold, and Grab a Guy Gold, allowing the gold to collect in the dips and crevices. 

The same mists are used to color the lace.

This sweet butterfly is layered with a gorgeous watercolor butterfly heat embossed with a Finnabiar stamp then colored with M. Graham watercolor paint. Next is a gorgeous Miszmasz Chipboard butterfly from the store heat embossed with Ranger Pale Gold topped with a sweet Little Birdie Crafts at A.C. Moore burlap butterfly.

The background is stenciled with the Circle of Life Stencil by AAL & Create, then spritzed and splashed with Lindy's Starburst Mists and spattered with white drawing ink.

"Don't Forget to Fly" Shabby Mixed Media Card for Scrap & Craft

Welcome to my creative space!

I'm here to share my final post as a designer for Scrap & Craft. Thank you Aneta, for the wonderful opportunity to create with such gorgeous products from your amazing shop! The store remains open, so please return often to pick up your favorite supplies. 

This sweet card features gorgeous Studio75 Berry Copse paper along with beautiful chipboard and flowers from the store. I just had to use this "don't forget to fly" sentiment with the fabulous SnipArt hot air balloon chippie making this a card that can be used for a variety of occasions.

Tips and Techniques

This lovely floral cluster includes a Magnolia Flower, Ivory Mulberry Rose, and Pale Pink Mulberry Roses from the store along with some beauties from 49 and Market. I dry brushed the flowers and stamen with white gesso, then applied Finnabair's Soft Matte Gel Medium and sprinkled lightly with white gold microbeads to add sparkle and texture. 

I used Bambino Glue to adhere the Prills that I tucked in for color and texture.

The lovely Craft Molly Floral Corners Chipboard was snipped in half, then heat embossed in white, then again with sparkling holographic embossing powder. 

I used fabulous Studio75 The Berry Copse paper from the 6x6" pad for the background. To add texture and more sparkle, I stenciled Finnabar's Light Paste through an Art Anthology Lotus Stencil across most of the background and then while the paste was still wet, I sprinkled generously with Donna Salazar's Pralines & Cream Twinkle Dust Glitter to give a golden shimmery glow.

***Tip***

Once the glittered molding paste is completely dry,

used canned air to blow off any excess glitter.

Ah, this is my favorite part of the card. I cut a piece of coordinating paper from the Berry Copse pack to fit the back of the balloon and heat embossed the chipboard with bronze embossing powder. This tiny Finnabair Mechanicals Tin Heart fit perfectly over the basket of the hot air balloon. It is rubbed with metallic paint and Finnabair Waxes to give a grungy vintage feel. 

The background is stamped with 49 and Market's 1797 stamp in sepia ink, then spattered with white drawing ink.

Mixed Media Baby Frame for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my Creative Space!

I've created a sweet mixed media baby frame featuring lots of fabulous ScrapBerry's products including cut outs from the darling My Little Star Collection.

 I made this frame for a friend, so I tucked in one of our little granddaughter's newborn photos to photograph it. Can you believe she's already a year old? Time flies by all too quickly!

Close-ups

A sweet floral cluster filled with gorgeous ScrapBerry's flowers. The adorable onesie is fussy cut from the My Little Star Collection New Arrival Tag page. I've also tucked in a sweet polymer rattle from the Kids' Fun Set and centered a Fairy Tale Resin Flower on the butterfly.

I heat embossed the gorgeous Dusty attic heart with white embossing powder then with glittery holographic powder. Then to add a bit of grunge, I rubbed shadows onto the heart with Finnabair's Rose Gold Wax.

Here I used more gorgeous Scrapberry's flowers. I softened them by dry brushing with white gesso, then added sparkle with bits of chunky glass glitter and prills. The darling rolling horse is from the Kids' Fun Set and you can see the pretty Versailles Resin Chrysanthemums. The pram is also cut from the My Little Star Tag page.

The Rose Garden Polymer flower flourish was just perfect to center the stamped and embossed  sentiment. I rubbed the edges lightly with the same color ink used to stamp the sentiment for some soft color. Lot's of texture here with lace, crackle, prills, microbead, and Finnabair's Glass Glitter and Art Stones.

This sweet butterfly is from the Elegy Butterfly Polymer set. I brushed it with gesso, then colored with mist and Finnabair's Art Wax.

The frame was brushed with gesso, then spread with crackle paste and allowed to dry over night for the cracks to fully develop. Crackle has a way of flaking off for me, so I thinned down some PVA glue with water and brushed with it over the dried crackle and set the frame aside to dry once more. The frame was randomly brushed teal and pink color sprays to settle into the cracks, then lightly dry brushed with metallic paints in similar colors over their coordinating colors - ie pink paint over the pink mist areas. Once dry, I lightly dry brushed with white gesso to bring out the texture.

Precious Moments Forever Mixed Media Card for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space!

My dear sister lost her beloved kitty recently. She had Trixie for 18 years, and she was a special part of her family. I created this special sympathy card for her featuring ScrapBerry's A Furry Little Story Collection. The tiger striped kitten looks just like Trixie and so perfect for this card.

Close-Ups

This sweet cluster includes ScrapBerry's Peach Gardenia, Blue & White Cherry Blossoms, Skeleton Leaves, Flair Button, Winds of Travel Clock, White Shabby Ribbon which I colored, and a sentiment stamped with the Elegy Precious Moments set.

Of course I had to add mixed media textures. I used the gorgeous Art Anthology Keyhole Stencil with Prima Light Paste to create texture, then added colors pulled from the sweet pillow and crown using Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Mists. Microbeads, Prills, and Mica Flakes are added around the cluster for additional texture.

The kitten looks like she is playfully batting at something, so I added this Elegy Polymer Butterfly which I colored with several shades of creamy Prima Finnabair art wax.

Here's a little tip. I always brush my background papers with clear gesso - mostly to reduce warping. Here's another great benefit. When spritzing color mist, I covered the little kitty in teal. Not a great color for a cat, but since I had brushed over her with clear gesso, I was able to use a damp paper towel to dab off all of the teal color to save my project.

Mixed Media Thank You Card for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years with friends and family. I received such lovely gifts for Christmas and wanted to express my thanks with a handcrafted card. Today I'm sharing a mixed media card created with ScrapBerry's beautiful "Home Sweet Home" collection along with more of their embellishments and flowers.

Close-Ups

I found a little sentiment stamp to fit this Laurel Wreath Charm. I stamped onto white cardsock, adhered the charm, then trimmed the paper around the edge. Gorgeous ScrapBerry's flowers form this lovely cluster with a polymer bird, resin flowers and a crystal sticker from the Elegy collection tucked into the edges.

I stamped randomly on the background with ScrapBerry's Fairy Tale Stamps and spattered with white ink, then filled in around the cluster with chunky glass glitter and Prills. To soften the flowers, I dry brushed with white gesso.

Mixed Media Card for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space!

Today I'm sharing a mixed media card featuring the gorgeous Nature's Spirit Collection. Our beautiful fall colors have lingered this year, but are nearly gone now. I wanted to keep them going just a little longer so the gorgeous fall colors in these papers from the Nature's Spirit collection were perfect. I've used one of the 6x6" sheets for the base and fussy cut the fabulous butterflies and lovely sentiment from the Feather Cluster sheet as well as the sweet flower tucked in behind the sentiment. I normally hand deliver my cards allowing me to use a lot of dimension, but this card is going into the mail so I simply added a couple darling ScrapBerry's charms to accent. I've also used ScrapBerry's Decorative Ribbons (lace) on the mixed media background.

Close-Ups

To create the mixed media background, I stenciled a design with molding paste, then used matte gel medium to adhere strips of lace with the ends distressed. I colored the lace and molding paste areas with coordinating Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst mists, then rubbed with Prima metallic waxes to highlight the texture.

The metal charms are also rubbed with Prima waxes.

I just adore the way these fussy cut butterflies pop against the mixed media background!

"Celebration" Shabby Mixed Media Card for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space today! I have a sweet project to share with you today. My darling niece is turning 16, and I created this mixed media card to celebrate her special day. I just adore the gorgeous colors and designs in ScrapBerry's Tropics Collection used for this card.

Tips and Techniques

I've used a combination of ScrapBerry's fabulous paper, fabric, and resin flowers and leaves to create this sweet focal point. A little dry brushing with white gesso softened them perfectly for the vintage feel I wanted to create.

A triple-loop bow is tied with Peach Shabby Ribbon dry brushed with white gesso to add to the shabby appearance, and a polymer feather is tucked in from the Colorful Dreams set. I brushed the feather with gesso before coloring with touches of ink. Bits of Shaved Ice chips and Prills are added for texture. I added background stamping in diagonal corners with the Fairy Tail Stamp. The sweet pearl flourish is from the Happy Holidays 1 Swirl Set.

The Tropics Card paper is filled with lovely sentiments including this Celebration piece which I distressed along the edges and dry brushed with white gesso.

I layered strips of Wind of Travel, Writings Washi Tape on the background paper before adding stenciling and stamping.
