"Don't Forget to Fly" Shabby Mixed Media Card for Scrap & Craft

I'm here to share my final post as a designer for Scrap & Craft. Thank you Aneta, for the wonderful opportunity to create with such gorgeous products from your amazing shop! The store remains open, so please return often to pick up your favorite supplies. 

This sweet card features gorgeous Studio75 Berry Copse paper along with beautiful chipboard and flowers from the store. I just had to use this "don't forget to fly" sentiment with the fabulous SnipArt hot air balloon chippie making this a card that can be used for a variety of occasions.

Tips and Techniques

This lovely floral cluster includes a Magnolia Flower, Ivory Mulberry Rose, and Pale Pink Mulberry Roses from the store along with some beauties from 49 and Market. I dry brushed the flowers and stamen with white gesso, then applied Finnabair's Soft Matte Gel Medium and sprinkled lightly with white gold microbeads to add sparkle and texture. 

I used Bambino Glue to adhere the Prills that I tucked in for color and texture.

The lovely Craft Molly Floral Corners Chipboard was snipped in half, then heat embossed in white, then again with sparkling holographic embossing powder. 

I used fabulous Studio75 The Berry Copse paper from the 6x6" pad for the background. To add texture and more sparkle, I stenciled Finnabar's Light Paste through an Art Anthology Lotus Stencil across most of the background and then while the paste was still wet, I sprinkled generously with Donna Salazar's Pralines & Cream Twinkle Dust Glitter to give a golden shimmery glow.

***Tip***

Once the glittered molding paste is completely dry,

used canned air to blow off any excess glitter.

Ah, this is my favorite part of the card. I cut a piece of coordinating paper from the Berry Copse pack to fit the back of the balloon and heat embossed the chipboard with bronze embossing powder. This tiny Finnabair Mechanicals Tin Heart fit perfectly over the basket of the hot air balloon. It is rubbed with metallic paint and Finnabair Waxes to give a grungy vintage feel. 

The background is stamped with 49 and Market's 1797 stamp in sepia ink, then spattered with white drawing ink.

"Shine Brightly" Shabby Mixed Media Card Featuring Studio75 Paper for Scrap & Craft

I just adore playing with color, and this gorgeous teal green paper from the Studio75 Berry Copse 6x6" Paper Collection is a perfect backdrop for magenta and gold accents featuring chipboard and flowers from the Scrap & Craft Store.

 Tips and Techniques

I arranged the floral cluster around this gorgeous Craft Molly Zahia chipboard frame. I wanted a few white accents to add lightness to the card, so simply heat embossed the frame in white. I've used a couple flowers from the store including the delicate ivory rose tucked below the sentiment. 

I've also used 49 and Market, Prima, and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers from my stash in the cluster with Prima pearls tucked in along with a couple Finnabair Mechanical pieces rubbed with her Amethyst Magic Antique Brilliance Wax.

Prima Paper Clay was formed in the Prima Baroque mold then painted with Finnabair's Ginger Magic Sparks Paint and rubbed with her Amethyst Wax.

I colored a white Apple Blossom with color mist and paint to coordinate. Bambino Glue was brushed around the cluster to adhere Prima Finnabair Art Stones, Mini Art Stones and seed beads for texture.

Additional texture was created by mixing Finnabair Gold Mica Powder into her 3D Matte Gel to stencil onto the background. While wet, I sprinkled with Finnabair Gold Microbeads. Since gel medium can work as an adhesive the beads are well adhered to the card.

The Scrapiniec Confetti Hearts are so versatile! I added three layers of color before scattering them around the cluster. I started with a layer of teal embossing powder, followed by teal glitter embossing powder, then one edge is brushed with Finnabair's Gold Metallique Wax. 

I also added pearls, rhinestones, and Finnabair Mica Flakes from my stash adhered with Bambino Glue.

I backed the card front with a fabulous Studio75 15x15cm Blank Card. These white cards are super heavy and hold up the weight of all my embellishments perfectly.

The background is stamped randomly with a script stamp and edged with a leafy scrolled design from Blue Fern Studios, then spattered with white drawing ink. I've also tucked in leafy white die cuts.

Mixed Media Mother's Day Card ~ DT Inspiration for Scrap & Craft May Challenge

Welcome to my creative space!

Today I'm sharing my DT inspiration for the Scrap & Craft May Challenge. Mother's day is just around the corner, and I've created this sweet card for my beautiful mom.

In this challenge you need to use any three chipboard pieces in your project. You can create any project you want: layout, card, canvas, art journal page or OTP project.

You need to use at least one product from the Scrap & Craft store

and link that product to the Scrap and craft store.

Tips and Techniques

I used two pieces of chipboard from the Lavender Mist - frame 02 Set. I painted them, spread Bambino glue across the blossom areas, and sprinkled with purple microbeads.

Texture is added to the background with light molding paste using Art Anthology's Lotus stencil, then spritzed with blue and purple color mist to highlight the texture. When dry, I used a script stamp randomly across the background and then spattered with white drawing ink. More texture is added around the cluster using prills and chunky glass glitter. I just had to add a little bling with a few clear rhinestones scattered near the floral cluster.

I've used a Mulberry Paper Magnolia Flower and Pink Cherry blossom from the store as well as a piece of Studio75 ~ Organza rose trim. I cut a blossom from the lace to tuck in and dyed it with some of the purple and blue color mist I used on the background.

I stamped out the leafy Branch stamp onto watercolor paper and used Zig Real Brush Markers for a vibrant watercolor effect. The leaves were then fussy cut to tuck in around the cluster.

I used 4 pieces of chipboard all together. This script beauty piece from Michaels is heat embossed with shabby white embossing enamel. The final piece is the center circle from the Crafty Molly ~ Zahia frame. It is brushed with randomly with metallic paint coordinating with the background and used as a base for the beauty sentiment.

A metal butterfly that I brushed with white gesso, Prima Sparks paint, and Prima Finnabair art wax.
