Hi everyone!! I have a new project up on the Helmar blog today with a wedding card featuring Helmar Fabric Glue.
My dear scrapbooking friend, Mandy was married last month. We've been friends for many years and have spent many an hour creating together, so I wanted to create something extra special for her. The focal piece of my card is a chipboard mannequin I dressed up with eyelash yarn and feathers. Helmar Fabric Glue is the perfect adhesive for this task.
Tips and Techniques
I started by painting the chipboard with a pearlescent medium. It's not shown here, but I precut the yarn pieces a little longer than the distance between the waist and the hem.
and placed the yarn and feathers into this bead of glue.
I covered the glued area by adhering a strip of ribbon across the waist, over the edge of the yarn pieces. I finished it off with a strip of pearls and tiny rose buds. These are all adhered with Helmar Fabric Glue as well.
I painted this delightful chipboard corner flourish and added half pearls to embellish. Because the background is uneven from the stenciling, I needed a strong adhesive to hold it in place. Of course I grabbed my Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive for this job.
on the stenciled areas. Because the clear Zapdots are so thin, they gave just the right amount of dimension to help my sentiment to sit evenly on the card.

As soon as I saw the gorgeous Patricia's Memoirs Scraps of Elegance July Kit, I knew I would pair the sweet Prima Resin flower with the wood plaque for a Scripture art home decor piece. I adore the vintage combination of rose and brown, so I colored the background and kit elements with a dark golden brown to complement the lovely rose paper and coral glitter.

Now for some close-up shots:
I've colored these lovely Prima Flowers.
Don't you just adore the Prima resin flower.
I appreciate that the petals are a creamy white so they can be colored. I
Here you can see the beads and glitter surrounding the flowers.
It's hard to see, but the Vintage Rose Pigment Powder adds
so much sparkle against the grungy crackled edges.

I'm up on Donna Salazar' blog today with a new page for my Faith art journal. Proverbs 16:20 is a great verse to remind me that true happiness is found in trusting in my Lord day by day and moment by moment.
Here's a sneak peek:
I've created handcrafted Rose Creations flowers from vintage book pages and used lots of Donna's yummy color products on my journal page. Please stop by her blog for photos and details HERE.

I enjoy trying new techniques, so when I received these adorable Tim Holtz Mini Mason Jars in the Scraps of Elegance June 2015 Creativity Add On, I thought about a process I saw to create the look of seaglass on vintage bottles. This technique involves coloring clear drying PVA glue. Helmar's Super-Tac Glue is thinner than most PVA glues and easy to work with, so I thought I would color it with the Creativity Add On alcohol ink. Well, that didn't work out so well. If you ever made goop for your children with school glue and Borax, you have an idea of what happened. If not, let's just say, it congealed. ;-) What did end up working perfectly is the Shimmerz paint from the Color Add On.
Thanks so much for viewing!

I've had so much fun making these two different cards from the June Scraps of Elegance Stephanie's Treasure Kit!! There are lots of events to celebrate with cards in June. We have three birthdays and Father's day, so I was in need of both a masculine Father's Day card for my husband and a feminine birthday card for my mom. So I thought, why not attempt to create both from the same paper and kit elements?
I've created a process video to show you how I put them together. I share a variety of technique such as using alcohol ink a couple different ways, coloring chipboard, using Prills, and even a demo on how to tie a four loop bow with the lovely kit ribbon. I hope you enjoy!
Here are some close-ups to show the details.
"Moments in Time"
I created this card from my mom who just celebrated her birthday.
Purely shabby chic and feminine!
I demonstrate how to tie a four loop bow in my video.
I've added Prills to my flowers and background. The lovely Blue Fern Studios Chipboard has been stamped and colored with kit mixed media products.
"Wonderful Life"
I used the back side of this gorgeous Blue Fern Studios paper to go totally
masculine for a Father's Day card for my wonderful husband, Gary.
Tim Holtz Rub-ons, Blue Fern Studios Stamps and Prima Ceiling Bulbs are all included in the fabulous June Scraps of Elegance June Kit and work perfectly together to give a masculine touch.
The background is colored using kit alcohol inks.
I've added a few Prima trinkets from my stash.
I show how to color rhinestones with alcohol ink in my video.
