"Smile" Mixed Media Baby Layout with the May Scraps of Elegance Kit

Welcome to my creative space!

I had a photo session with our sweet little granddaughter and managed to capture her oh so sweet smile. She's 4 1/2 months old in this photo. How time flies with these little ones!! I've scrapbooked her photo here with the gorgeous Scraps of Elegance "Mix'd Media" May Kit. This gorgeous kit featuring the fabulous Blue Fern Studio Happy Accident Collection paired with their Chipboard Arrow Words was such a dream to work with. The smile arrow couldn't have been more perfect for this page. I was also able to create some wonderful textures with the DecoArt Texture Sand Paste. "Love Forever" DIY Home Decor Heart and PROCESS VIDEO TUTORIAL with the January 2017 Scraps of Elegance Kit

I'm so excited to share my latest project for Scraps of Elegance with a process video tutorial. This Crate Paper Color Reveal Watercolor Heart Panel is the January exclusive OTP Add On and was a dream to work with. It is a watercolor panel stretched over a heart frame. So it has the feel of a canvas, but the properties of watercolor paper. Just perfect for a Valentine's home decor project when paired up with all the gorgeous elements in the Main Kit and Add Ons.

"Remember this Moment" DIY Mixed Media Layout with Scraps of Elegance Petals Kit

I enjoy the artistic outlet that scrapbooking provides, but it's also all about capturing special memories. Our sweet daughter-in-law's grandfather recently passed away. This is one of her favorite photos of them together. They both look so happy waving at the camera. I gave this to Rachel for her birthday this week and she was so happy to receive it. She would like to display it in their home, so I'll be framing it for her. 

The gorgeous Kaisercraft papers with the memories sentiments couldn't be more perfect for this sweet page!

ScrapBerry's December Christmas Challenge ~ Vintage Mixed Media Tag

It's a Christmas Challenge at ScrapBerry's, and the design team has been busy creating projects to inspire you as you join along. Here's my vintage mixed media tag featuring the gorgeous Winter Joy Collection. Stop on over at the ScrapBerry's blog to see what the rest of the team has created HERE.

Close-Ups

On the flowers, I brushed gold Glimmer Spray across the edges of the petals as well as brushing randomly with glue to adhere chunky glitter. The ScrapBerry's Trumpet Charm is a perfect Christmas  trinket to tuck into the cluster. 

The Winter Joy Cards sheet included this sweet sentiment along with the vintage girl tag image. I just adore all the options the gorgeous image sheets add to my projects!! The Scrapberry's Pearl Sticker Applique is a perfect touch. It is cut into two pieces to stretch across both sides of the cluster.

I die cut this doily from Kraft cardstock as well as the leaves around the cluster. I've added texture by adhering Art Stones and glitter around the cluster and to the center of the die cut doily. To add a bit of shimmer, I brushed the Art Stones with Gold Glimmer Spray. For a wintry feel, I've spattered white drawing ink across the background layer as well as dry brushing most of the elements randomly with white gesso.

Wedding Card/Gift Tag Gel using Plate Monoprint with VIDEO TUTORIAL ~ Scraps of Elegance July Kit

I have been wanting to try my hand at creating monoprints using a gel plate for quite some time, but have never gotten around to purchasing one. I was absolutely delighted to receive the July Creativity Add On featuring the Gel Press. My video today is a technique video showing how I created the monoprints used in this mixed media wedding card and tag set. The paint colors Melinda selected coordinate so beautifully with the gorgeous "Sunshine and Sweet Tea" July Scraps of Elegance Kit.

Trinket Box with VIDEO TUTORIAL ~ Scraps of Elegance May Kit

I adore having trinket boxes to stash away my scrapbooking supplies, so when I saw this Graphic45 ATC Book Box, the OTP Add On for the "Belle Journée" Kit - I knew it would be one of my projects with this gorgeous kit!

My favorite technique used on this project is the raised enameled design. The DecoArt Modeling Paste in the Main Kit is nice and wet, so when stenciled with the Victorian Sketchbook Stencil. the embossing powder clings to it nicely for complete coverage. It looks so gorgeous when heat set.
