Japanese Dreams Floral Mixed Media Card for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space!

I'm sharing a sweet card featuring the ScrapBerry's Japanese Dreams Collection along with gorgeous flowers, ribbon and resin pieces. I like to have a few cards in my stash ready to go for any event, so I'll add a quick sentiment at a later time.

Close-Ups

I used a variety of Scrapberry's Chrysanthemun, Cherry Blossoms, and Stemmed Lilies to create a floral cluster. A double loop bow is tied with Light Pink Shabby Ribbon. You can see a resin flower, flair button, and crystal sticker tucked in to fill out the cluster and the polymer flourish is rubbed with gold wax to highlight the texture. Sisal fiber and Prills from my stash are added for texture.

I used a Winter Joy Pearl Sticker Applique to create a butterfly trail for this sweet diecut butterfly.

The background is stenciled with a script image and molding paste onto the background and spritzed with gold and pink color spray to highlight.

"You Are Special" Mixed Media Layout and Process VIDEO TUTORIAL with Scraps of Elegance June Kit

Welcome to my creative space.

Our little granddaughter just turned 6 months old, and I had a little photo shoot with her. This is one of the darling photos I took that day with her mommy standing behind me to get this precious smile! The Scraps of Elegance June "Birds of a Feather" was a dream to work with and the blue flowers and elements accent her big blue eyes so beautifully. I have a process video tutorial to share with you showing how I created this page.

Some of the techniques I share include:

• Creating a mixed media background with Distress Oxide Ink along with visual texture using the 49 and Market Scripted Square Stamp
• Chipboard with layered heat embossing
• How to create your own DIY glitter medium
• Coloring resin elements

"Life's Good" Mixed Media Card for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space!

I'm back to share a sweet summer card featuring ScrapBerry's beautiful Tropics Collection I enjoyed working with this gorgeous paper collection with these vibrant tropical colors.

Tips and Techniques

I've included ScrapBerry's Light Pink Roses, Ivory Curly Roses, Cream & Orange Gardenia and an Ivory Cherry Blossom as well as Fairy Tale resin and polymer flowers. The polymer flower is brushed with clear gesso, then colored with Yellow and Red Stains Ink to coordinate with the paper and other flowers. I've also rubbed on copper wax to highlight the edges.

The card edges are stamped with the Fairy Tale Clear Stamp. For visual texture, I've spattered the background with white ink.

The ScrapBerry's Life's Good Flair Button makes a perfect sentiment for this cheery card. The yellow Pearl Sticker Applique from the Happy Holiday set is also rubbed with copper wax to accent.

Craft Hoarders Anonymous January 2017 Blog Hop

Welcome to the January Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided to create a love themed card. Really it could be used for a Valentine, birthday card, or even a feminine graduation card. This card is a bit of a twist for me. I tried to try to keep it flat so it could be mailed more easily. If you're a regular follower, You know that I generally use flowers and dimensional items that are pretty thick to put into an envelope to mail. With all the busyness of the Christmas and New Years holidays just behind me, I also wanted to make something that would be quick and easy to put together. 

"Love Completely"

I used the BoBunny Rose Cafe Collection gifted to me by my dear friend, Juliana Michaels. I have had it in my stash for a while now, so it was great to pull it out and create this sweet card with it.

Close-Ups

Of course I had to include mixed media elements. I stenciled this lovely butterfly into the corner with molding paste, and while wet, sprinkled with embossing powder then heat set to give an enameled finish. The focal paper is dry brushed with gesso, then spattered with thinned gesso for visual dimension.

This layered chipboard piece gives some nice dimension without being too thick. I tucked in some flower pieces from the Noteworthy pack. I used the edge of my scissors to distress the edges of the background papers as well as the sentiment and flags - a quick and easy way to add dimension without making the card too thick.

ScrapBerry's December Christmas Challenge ~ Vintage Mixed Media Tag

It's a Christmas Challenge at ScrapBerry's, and the design team has been busy creating projects to inspire you as you join along. Here's my vintage mixed media tag featuring the gorgeous Winter Joy Collection. Stop on over at the ScrapBerry's blog to see what the rest of the team has created HERE.

Close-Ups

On the flowers, I brushed gold Glimmer Spray across the edges of the petals as well as brushing randomly with glue to adhere chunky glitter. The ScrapBerry's Trumpet Charm is a perfect Christmas  trinket to tuck into the cluster. 

The Winter Joy Cards sheet included this sweet sentiment along with the vintage girl tag image. I just adore all the options the gorgeous image sheets add to my projects!! The Scrapberry's Pearl Sticker Applique is a perfect touch. It is cut into two pieces to stretch across both sides of the cluster.

I die cut this doily from Kraft cardstock as well as the leaves around the cluster. I've added texture by adhering Art Stones and glitter around the cluster and to the center of the die cut doily. To add a bit of shimmer, I brushed the Art Stones with Gold Glimmer Spray. For a wintry feel, I've spattered white drawing ink across the background layer as well as dry brushing most of the elements randomly with white gesso.

"It's A Girl" Mixed Media Layout with VIDEO TUTORIAL ~ Scraps of Elegance September Kit

Wedding Card/Gift Tag Gel using Plate Monoprint with VIDEO TUTORIAL ~ Scraps of Elegance July Kit

I have been wanting to try my hand at creating monoprints using a gel plate for quite some time, but have never gotten around to purchasing one. I was absolutely delighted to receive the July Creativity Add On featuring the Gel Press. My video today is a technique video showing how I created the monoprints used in this mixed media wedding card and tag set.
