"Celebrate" Mixed Media Card for C'est Magnifique

Hi everyone! I'm back to share the details of my second card and final project with the amazing C'est Magnifique November Kit

Our daughter, Grace, is a writer. She collects fountain pens, new and vintage, so when I saw this fountain pen and ink well in the Main Kit Prima Ephemera Pack, I knew I would use them to create a card for her. If you look closely, you will see that the background behind the flowers has more vintage pen related ephemera pieces.

"Celebrate"

Tips and Techniques
When I was deconstructing the Mixed Media Kit beaded eyelash lace for one of my other kit projects, one of the beaded drops came apart. It was perfect to tuck the larger gem into the cluster and to scatter the beads nearby. If you are wondering how I adhere the beads, I simply put a dab of strong glue that dries clear like Helmar 450 on a craft mat, then use tweezers to dip the beads one at a time into the glue then place them randomly on the card.

I used a mix of flowers from the Main Kit and Magnifique Mixed Media Kit. The black flower was brushed with glue and sprinkled with Prima Art Sugar in Charcoal while the others are dry brushed with black gesso. I've also tucked in one of the Main Kit Prima Stick Pins.

The Mixed Media Kit 3D sticker was not a color I wanted, so I spritzed it with mist to coordinate with the background. I like how the mist pooled, giving a vintage look to the sticker piece. You can see the texture on the background. I misted the paper with water, then two colors of mist (my stash) to get the mottled effect. When dry I stenciled the dot pattern with light molding paste (stash), then a bit more mist. I dry brushed the textured areas with the Mixed Media Kit Liquid Pearls to give a shimmery gold effect. Finally I splattered with black and white ink from my stash.

I cut the ends off of the "Celebrate" sentiment from the Main Kit and colored with mists (stash). The card and sentiment are distressed with my Distrezz-it-All, then pulled the edges through the excess mist from my craft mat to color the edges and not waste the gorgeous, shimmery color sitting on my mat.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my projects from the
C'est Magnifique November Kit and Add-ons.

Happy Birthday Card for C'est Magnifique

Today I'm sharing the first of two cards I've created with the beautiful November C'est Magnifique "Time After Time" Kit

Tips and Techniques
The beautiful flowers are from the Main Kit and Flower Add-On. The smallest flower I created from mulberry paper using my Bitty Blossoms die. The flourishes are die cut from white cardstock. I dry brushed the flowers with white gesso, then Shimmerz Inklings from the Magnifique Mixed Media kit was brushed onto the flowers and flourishes.

Here's a closer view. I softened the layered card edges by distressing and stitched around the card edge. I added dyed cheese cloth and flower stamen from my stash.

In this side view, you can see the layered cut outs from the Montage Calling Cards page and delicate die cuts from cardstock. I've used foam squares to pop up some of the center layers. I wrapped the center section with Baker's twine from the Main Kit

One final view. I've used Mixed Media Kit products with dots of Liquid Pearls in the bottom corner and the die cut layers are colored with more of the Shimmerz Inklings. The edge inking is done with Distress Ink from my stash.

Happiness Is . . . November Sketch Challenge for C'est Magnifique

The first of the month is the reveal of our November C'est Magnifique Sketch Challenge. I have the layout I created based on this gorgeous sketch to share as well.

First though, I'd like to share a sneak peek of my Once Upon A...Sketch layout featuring Leaky Shed Studio Chipboard. This project us up on the Leaky Shed blog today, so I hope you'll hop over there to take a look HERE.

Sneak Peek

Now for today's post.

The November "Time After Time" C'est Magnifique Kit is jam packed with gorgeous papers and coordinating elements. I've tried to created some different looks, and today's layout is soft and romantic. Elizabeth and Andrew waited to share their first kiss until they were husband and wife. Here's one of those first precious moments.

Tips and Techniques
These lovely pearled rose clusters by Prima come in the Flower Add-On. The Prima clock charm is part of the Main Kit in the Ephemera Pack.

Here's another view. I've added mixed media products from my stash including mists, microbeads, molding paste and inks. I've used the Ranger Liquid Pearl in a different way. Instead of creating pearls with them, I rubbed this medium across the raised molding paste to achieve a beautiful golden sheen across the page.

There are lots of ephemera pieces and tags in the Main Kit and Magnifique Mixed Media kit. The key and butterfly are part of the Ephemera Pack. I painted mist like watercolor across the bird cage and butterfly on the ephemera tags. Adding that bit of color pulls my eye right in to this sweet photo. I've also used some cards I cut from the gorgeous Blue Fern Montage papers.

The smaller of the two rose clusters in this package did not include any pearls. I'm also a bead artist, so I happened to have several matching pearls in my stash. I painted thin wire with white gesso and twisted it through the pearls just like it was done in the larger cluster. Also I pulled the cluster apart and reworked it for this corner.

Here's a side view. The white feathers are from my stash.

"Beautiful" for C'est Magnifique and November Kit Reveal ~ Time After Time

It's time for the release of the "Time After Time" November C'est Magnifique Kit.

Here's another project I've created with this gorgeous kit. Be sure to scroll down for photos and kit information following my project details.

The beautiful woman in this photo is our sweet daughter-in-law's great grandmother.

"Beautiful"

Tips and Techniques
I cut the Blue Fern Leafy Bough (Magnifique Mixed Media Kit) into two pieces to span across the page.

I've stenciled and misted the background along with ink splatter. These coloring products are from my stash.

I've used several pieces in this cluster from the Flower Add-On. The Prima crocheted doily had the vintage feel I was looking for, but not the pink, so I layered on another flower letting the crocheted portion extend out.

From the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit, I've used the Prima ribbon stamp, and the small black rose from is edged with Prima Art Sugar. I've also tucked in one of the Prima stick pins from the Main Kit.

This gorgeous Blue Fern Leafy Bough Chipboard is painted it with green chalkboard paint, (Mixed Media Kit) then when dry painted with Viva Transparent Crackle Paint (stash). Once dry, I dabbed glue and sprinkled with microbeads from my stash.

I've layered Prima Ephemera (Main Kit) and cards cut from the Blue Fern Montage Bouquet paper behind and around the photo. This sentiment is also cut from the sheet and the butterfly is from the Prima Ephemera pack.

This sweet little cluster contains flowers and a Prima 3-D Sticker from the Main Kit, Flower Add On, and Magnifique Mixed Media Kit. This sticker was light and shiny - more of a contrast from the vintage background than I wanted, So I spritzed it lightly with some of the same mist used on the background. You can get a variety of looks and feels from your embellishments by using mixed media products like mists, so don't set aside an element that could be perfect with a little spritz of mist, or brush stroke of gesso. . .

"Hidden Staircase" for C'est Magnifique

I'm back to share my second layout with the gorgeous November C'est Magnifique kit featuring the Blue Fern Montage papers.

We recently took a vacation to Iowa and while there, toured the capitol building. The architecture and attention to detail was amazing. Every inch of the building was covered with carved marble, gilding, and hand painted surfaces. There are five domes atop the building and this ornate hidden staircase rises to the top of one of these domes.

"Hidden Staircase"

Tips and Techniques
This Main Kit Ironwork Arch is gorgeous, and I placed it above the photo to continue the feel of the dome where the photo ends. I painted with white crackle, and when dry, dry brushed with bronze metallic paint, then a bit of white gesso to highlight the cracked texture. You can see the Mixed Media Kit clock hands peeking out from the top of this cluster. I brushed them with adhesive and Prima Art Sugar to distress.

The Mixed Media Kit includes the new Prima Art Sugar in Charcoal. I brushed glue across the flowers, then sprinkled with glitter. I found that this glitter appears dark against a light surface, and lightens a black surface. I wanted to lighten up the feathers just a little, so used a small paint brush to place spots of glue in the direction of the vanes to adhere more glitter.

Here's another view. Below the feathers, I spread extra heavy gesso with a grain striping comb for texture, then when dry painted. I mixed grey into the mint green gesso until it was the color of the background behind the vintage woman ephemera piece, then used it with the Mixed Media Kit Fleur de Lis stencil. I tucked some sisal from my stash around the flowers for texture.

I layered lots of pieces from the Main Kit Ephemera pack and Mixed Media Kit journaling cards around and under the photo. The background paper is altered with Twinkling H20's, then splattered with drawing ink, mist, and more of the Twinkling H20's. I printed the title onto ink jet transparency paper.

"Joyful Heart" Mixed Media Layout for C'est Magnifique

I'm excited to share my first design team layout from the gorgeous C'est Magnifique November Kit featuring the Blue Fern Montage paper collection.

My niece has such a joyful spirit and captivating smile. When I saw the "Joyful Heart" sentiment on the Bouquet paper along with the "Smile" Phrase Tags, I knew they were a perfect match for this photo.

"Joyful Heart"
Mixed media layout by Tracey Sabella for C'est Magnifique, Blue Fern Montage, Prima

Tips and Techniques
There are so many beautiful elements in this kit! I've accented with black using the ribbon, Pebbles Phrase Tags, and Thickers Asterics from the Main Kit and a snippet of Eyelash Ribbon from the Mixed Media Kit. I've also scattered sequins from the Prima Ephemera pack in the Main Kit.

Mixed media layout by Tracey Sabella for C'est Magnifique, Blue Fern Montage, Prima
I've used a mix of flowers from the Main Kit, Flower Add On, and Mixed Media Kits. For the background, I've spritzed with mists from my stash and stamped lightly around this cluster. I've used the Main Kit cotton candy paint to create the rings and splatter along with black splatter with drawing ink from my stash. You can see just a bit of the stenciled flourish in the bottom corner. I used the Fleur de Lis Stencil from the Mixed Media Kit with light molding paste covered with Fran-tage Embossing Enamel. I adore how heating embossing powder on molding paste adds lovely texture. I've dry brushed white gesso from my stash across the dimensional elements and around the edge of my photo.

More gorgeous flowers along with a Prima Stick Pin and one of the Prima die cuts from the Main Kit.

I pulled apart one of the Prima 3-D stickers to add a flower and let the sentiment extend out. To add a touch a bling and black, I added a single beaded dangle from the eyelash trim in the Mixed Media Kit
