Welcome to my creative space!
I'm so excited to be sharing my first project for Amazing Paper Grace with the Flourished Fleurit October Die of the Month.
Elegance is our go-to style at Amazing Paper Grace. We are always on the hunt for those elegant elements that you can add to a card that gives it just the right feel and appeal. This month we're head over heels for a year around a cascade of tendrils that can be snipped here and there to be used for top and bottom card decoration. Say welcome to the Amazing Paper Grace October 2021 Die of the Month - Flourished Fleurit.
The inspiration for Flourished Fleurit comes from looking through our stashes for just the right Rectangle or just the right Square. Guess what - Flourished Fleurit can be both. A snip here or a snip there gives just the right proportion to be a rectangle or a square. We cleverly added in sprigs of flowers so that you can cover your transitions. Hunting for elegant corners for a slimline - look no further. A snip or two has you covered.
Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create:
1. Snip between all four corners for slimline decoration
2. Snip between the connecting rod and cinch for a square
3. Cut as a rectangle for a beautiful A7 layout with many options.
Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.
Fall Card
Pillow Box Accessory
There are 9 dies included in the Flourished Fleurit.
I have used this gorgeous Flourished Fleurit Die of the Month set to create a fall card with mixed media accents and a delightful coordinating pillow box.
Can you believe October is already here? Cooler temperatures are arriving and the leaves are starting to turn crimson and yellow, which is my inspiration for the beautiful fall colors used to create this lovely duo. I used the larger flourish on the card as a border to a lovely scene with a sweet bird amid beautiful flowers. The card base is cut from a coordinating text paper on the fold using the large outline die for a gorgeously shaped card. I have to admit, this is the first time I've used this technique. These fabulous dies made it so easy, and I just adore how it turned out.
I enjoy creating handcrafted flowers and used the sweet flower dies included in the set to create small carnations and florals sprigs. The tips of the petals are colored with coordinating ink, then shaped before putting them together with a few stamen in the center of the carnations. I mixed them with some premade flowers from my stash and used the leaf dies to create foliage to tuck into the edges of the clusters.
My designer tip for this project is to use a die cut as a stencil:
I adore using mixed media techniques, so got creative and die cut the center medallion from heavy cardstock (110lb) and used it as a stencil below the top cluster. I used icing paste medium, and while it was still wet, sprinkled on some extra fine glitter for lots of shimmer. Although I used a pre-colored texture paste, any kind of texture paste can be used. If you would like it to be colored, just rub a non-permanent ink pad onto a craft mat and mix a small dollop of paste into the ink to incorporate the color.
For additional texture, I used matte gel medium to adhere some prills and microbeads below the bottom cluster.
