Frosty Wintry Mixed Media Card for Studio75

Welcome to my creative space!

I have created a frosty winter card to share with you featuring Studio75's gorgeous Peony Avenue Collection. I drew inspiration from the polar vortex we experienced here in January with sparkling ice crystals and white snow banks reflecting frosty blue skies.

Tips and Techniques

This blue paper from The Peony Avenue 6x6" paper set is a perfect backdrop for this wintry card.

I clustered Little Birdie Crafts crafts flowers from  A.C. Moore. The diecut leaves were dabbed with Finnabair's Snowflake paste and while wet sprinkled with silver glitter.

The shimmering chipboard wing is from the Scrapiniec Steampunk Flying Hearts Set of Wings found in the Studio75 Store. It is brushed with Finnabair's Magical Pond Sparks Paint and while still wet sprinkled with more of the silver glitter that was used on the leaves.

The round frame was brushed with white gesso then a layer of Finnabair's White Crackle Paste before spritzing with Heidi Swapp Ocean Color Shine, drying well between each layer. I have found that the crackle paste mediums that I have tried get more cracks when allowed to air dry rather than drying with a heat tool.

Bambino Glue from the Studio75 Store is dries perfectly clear and matte, so works perfectly to adhere the Prill and microbead bling around the cluster.

This chipboard snowflake has the same media applied to it as the round frame. I received these sweet snowflakes as a gift with a recent order from Joggles.com. 

On the card base I brushed the center portions with white gesso, then stenciled with Finnabair's Frosty pearl and Mystic Turquoise Icing Pastes swirled together using her Wild Berries Stencil.

I applied Frosty Pearl Icing Paste to Scrapiniec Confetti Stars from the Studio75 Store using a palette knife to swirl the paste for a textured effect, and once dry, rubbed lightly with Finnabair's Old Silver wax to highlight the texture.

I just adore these little chipboard stars that come in three different sizes. A perfect way to add another bit of texture to any project.
