"Cat's Best Friend" Card for ScrapBerry's

Hello my dear paper crafting friends!! I'm back to share a mixed media card featuring ScrapBerry's gorgeous Holiday Romance Collection. My sister adores her two cats and this sweet image from the collection reminds me of her as a child, so I just had to use it to create a birthday card for her. This collection has a vintage beach theme to it, but also worked beautifully for a vintage mixed media feel for this darling image.

FTC Disclosure: I am currently working as a freelance designer for ScrapBerry's. While I am compensated in product, I maintain the freedom as an independent designer to say what I truly think of these products and will not recommend something that I don’t personally use and enjoy.

Tips and Techniques
ScrapBerry’s has such lovely flowers. For this cluster I included a mix of paper flowers, flowers cut from the Mementos image sheet, resin flowers, and a metal Rosebud Charm I painted with gesso then colored with mist and sanded to allow the metal to show through on the edges. The fussy cut images are inked to give them even more of a vintage feel and the paper flowers were lightly dry brushed with white gesso.

Here’s the cluster from the top of the card. I also included a polymer flower from the Fairy Tale collection. I adore mixed media texture, so in diagonal corners I stenciled music notes with molding paste that I sprinkled with raspberry embossing powder and heat embossed.

Scrapberry's Silk Ribbon drapes so beautifully. I couldn’t resist creating a double loop bow to flow across the bottom of the card. A few dabs of Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive hold the ribbon in place.

Here’s a close up of the sweet girl and kitten image. Of course I just had to tuck in the Cat’s Best Friend Flair.

The base layer is from the 6x6 Holiday Romance Paper Collection. I dry brushed it with gesso and added a bit of blue mist, then stamped with the ScrapBerry’s Butterflies stamp that has a lovely script image. The edges are inked in brown to add to a vintage feel. I scattered a few gems from my stash across this corner.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project and are inspired to grab your ScrapBerry’s
products to create a card for someone special in your life.
