Floral Mixed Media Birthday Card for Studio75

I have created a floral mixed media birthday card featuring the gorgeous Studio75 Forever In Love Collection that includes beautiful images that are perfect for fussy cutting. I just adore the amazing colors in this paper set, don't you?

Tips and Techniques

The Forever In Love paper collection includes such fabulous neutral background papers with delicate designs like this one from the 6x6" set. I've fussy cut flowers, leaves, and a darling heart to pull in the colors that are prominent in the collection and then found flowers in my stash that are a perfect match to this color palette. I dry brushed the dimensional flowers with white gesso to soften the color.

To create texture on the background I mixed Antique Bronze Cadence Metallic Paint from the store into Finnabair Frosty Pearl Icing Paste to get this fabulous rose gold color to stencil. I also spattered Heidi Swapp Peach Color Shine and white drawing ink for visual texture. The sentiments is stamped onto white cardstock with Brilliance Rocket Red Gold Archival Ink which is a perfect match to these gorgeous flowers by Little Birdie Crafts sold in A.C. Moore stores. And the sweet cherry blossom flower is from the Studio75 store.

This gorgeous Scrapiniec Lavender Mist Frame is heat embossed with bronze embossing powder which looks so great against the stenciled background. I have found that using a foam applicator like Ranger's Emboss It Dauber works great to apply embossing onto large intricate pieces like this works great.

I used Bambino Glue to adhere Coral Sea Prills and Finnabair Copper Microbeads texture around the bottom of the cluster as well as a few microbeads scattered across the flowers. I tucked in gears and metal flowers from my stash and rubbed them with Finnabair's Firebird Metallic Wax.

The card is adhered to one of the 6x6" Studio75 White Card Bases. It's so handy to start with 6x6" patterned paper and have these sturdy card bases on hand that are a perfect fit!
