Vintage Mixed Media Card for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space. Today I'm sharing a card that I created for a very special scrapbooking friend who is turning 76 this week. She adores birds, so the gorgeous ScrapBerry's Primavera Collection with these sweet bird images was just perfect for this card. I've also used lots of lovely ScrapBerry's embellishments, which you can read about in my Tips and Techniques section below.

Don't forget, ScrapBerry's is hosting a spring themed challenge through the end of April.
Be sure to stop by the ScrapBerry's blog for all the challenge details HERE.

FTC Disclosure: I am currently working as a freelance designer for ScrapBerry's. While I am compensated in product, I maintain the freedom as an independent designer to say what I truly think of these products and will not recommend something that I don’t personally use and enjoy.

Tips and Techniques
I created a sweet cluster with gorgeous Scrapberry's Cherry Blossoms, Lily, Freedom Flair Button, and Curls for Wedding Swirl. To soften the flowers, I dry brushed them with white gesso.

On the other side I tucked in a Wind of Travel Clock and another Cherry Blossom.

To give a vintage feel, the background paper is dry brushed with white gesso, then splattered with Heidi Swapp Primrose Color Shine mist and white drawing ink.

The Primavera Card pages have so many gorgeous images. I cut out the birds and feather cards along with the blossoms and butterfly to layer as the focal point of the card. The edges are rubbed with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

You can see just the head of the sweet French Journey Polymer bird. I brushed it with white gesso, then dabbed with Pumice Stone Ink. I added just a bit of blue with ScrapBerry's Blue Stains Ink. To add to the shabby vintage effect, some of the ink is rubbed off.

I tied a triple loop bow with Light Brown Shabby Ribbon - a perfect pairing with the vintage style of this card. Feathers are cut from the cards paper and arranged at the center of the bow.

The Butterflies Wings Clear Stamp is great for backgrounds and the edges of the card are stamped with this beautiful image. Note ~ the dry brushing on the background I mentioned earlier was done after stamping.

For added dimension I scattered silver microbeads and Tu-Tu Pink Prills around the clusters and bow.

My Little Star Bunny Congratulations Tag for ScrapBerry's

Welcome to my creative space! I'm not much of a color work artist, but couldn't resist coloring ScrapBerry's adorable "My Little Star" bunny stamp. Isn't this image so adorable? I've paired this sweet bunny with gorgeous paper from the Summer Joy Collection along with lovely ScrapBerry's embellishments.

FTC Disclosure: I am currently working as a freelance designer for ScrapBerry's. While I am compensated in product, I maintain the freedom as an independent designer to say what I truly think of these products and will not recommend something that I don’t personally use and enjoy.

Close-ups

I stamped this adorable My Little Star Bunny image onto watercolor paper and colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. These markers blend nicely with each other and with water to achieve the shaded areas

I paired gorgeous Scrapberry's Cherry Blossoms with polymer flowers from the Summer Joy Set then fussy cut images from the Summer Joy Cards 2 image sheet to create this sweet cluster. The Kids' Fun Epoxy Congratulations sticker is layered over a tag from the Dream Land Card Set.

I scattered some Prills around the cluster for texture and painted a couple chipboard butterflies to accent. A snippet of lace from my stash is to the bottom for a delicate touch.

The background and stamped daisies are brushed with clear Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle.

I hope you'll grab your ScrapBerry's supplies and create a
special project with one of these adorable stamps!!

"You Decorate the World" Mixed Media Card for ScrapBerry's

Spring is the theme of the March/April challenge at ScrapBerry’s, and the design
team has been busy creating projects to inspire you as you join along.

Be sure to stop on over at the ScrapBerry's blog for all the challenge details
and to be inspired by the rest of the design team creations HERE.

One of my favorite spring holidays is Mother's Day. I'm blessed to have a wonderful mother and created this card to help celebrate this special day with her. The sweet sentiment from the Cherished Jewel collection Romance & Tiaras Tag page is just perfect for this card.

FTC Disclosure: I am currently working as a freelance designer for ScrapBerry's. While I am compensated in product, I maintain the freedom as an independent designer to say what I truly think of these products and will not recommend something that I don’t personally use and enjoy.

Tips and Techniques
The cluster is created with a Scrapberry's Pink Gardenia paired with delightful resin flowers and a sweet flair button. I've been trying to use something old from my stash on each project I create and for this card it's a metal butterfly. I brushed it with gesso then added the delightful color with Scrapberry's Pink Ink Pad. I spritzed it with a fixative to keep the gorgeous color from rubbing off. Prills are adhered to the center to create dimension for the body.

I enjoy repeating patterns, and the die cut and printed leaves repeat the shape of the butterfly. The crystal swirl is cut from the Wedding 1 set.

I've layered a couple sheets from the 6x6" Cherished Jewel collection, distressing the edges and punching the side edge of the floral sheet. The Crystal Sticker from the Floral Embroidery set pairs so perfectly with these gorgeous papers and the polymer Column is a great fit as well. I spattered some white ink across the card for a touch of mixed media.

Don't forget to hop on over to the ScrapBerry's blog for the
challenge details and gorgeous inspiration HERE.
