October ScrapBerry's Challenge ~ Fall Dream Card

It’s the first of the month, and ScrapBerry's has a brand new challenge for you. The theme for this challenge is autumn! You can view the gorgeous inspiration by the design team and find all the challenge details HERE.

This is my first project on the ScrapBerry’s Design Team. I’m so delighted with the gorgeous products they sent for me to work with!!

I created this fall inspired card with the Primavera paper collection along with a variety of ScrapBerry’s amazing flowers, embellishments, and flair.

FTC Disclosure: I am currently working as a freelance designer for ScrapBerry's. While I am compensated in product, I maintain the freedom as an independent designer to say what I truly think of these products and will not recommend something that I don’t personally use and enjoy.

Tips and Techniques
ScrapBerry's carries gorgeous paper and resin flowers. I brushed a little blue watercolor on the turquoise daisies, and darkened the pink daisies with orange and brown. Once the watercolor paint dried, I dry brushed with white gesso. I tucked in a few dried seed pods and grain heads among the delightful paper flowers.

The butterflies are fussy cut from the Primavera Card 1 sheet full of gorgeous images. I rubbed the butterflies with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, then lightly brushed them with blue watercolor.

I also fussy cut a card from the Primavera Card 2 sheet and popped it up as a base for the floral cluster.

I randomly stamped the background with the Butterflies Stamp with Ground Espresso Distress ink and spattered with black, white, and orange ink. I adore adding texture so adhered art stones around the cluster and colored with watercolor paint.

It's so easy to add texture with items most of us have in our stash. I dry brushed a torn piece of corrugated board with white gesso, rubbed with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink (or any golden yellow ink you have in your stash, sprinkled with Bronze Embossing Powder to heat emboss, then rubbed with copper paste. I layered it with lace Girlie Grunge Gauze colored with Distress Inks, and black thread. I've also added texture by stenciling diagonally with bronze crackle color.

I hope you've been inspired to join the October ScrapBerry's fall themed challenge. Just remember to use at least 50% ScrapBerry's products. You can link up your project HERE.

Did you know that there is also another challenge going on at ScrapBerry's. This is the store challenge, for which you can play along together with your crafty friends from your local papercraft store. There are some amazing prizes to be won! Check out this blogpost for more information.
