"Live Your Dreams" Card ~ February Craft Hoarders Anonymous Bog Hop

Welcome to the February Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop!

I hope you've been enjoying inspiration from the talented designers along your way through the hop! There are so many amazing paper crafting ideas.

You should be coming to my blog from Jacquie Southas. Then after visiting me, hop over to Donna Idlet! To start at the beginning of the hop, please head over to Gloria's Blog!

Our daughter, Grace, had a birthday this month. She collects fountain pens and loves purple! When I received this paper in one of my Scraps of Elegance kits a few months back, I knew it would be perfect to create a card for her. I always have such gorgeous goodies left from my SOE kits, so my goal this month was to use up some of those wonderful items.

"Live Your Dreams"

Tips and Techniques
The title chipboard piece was beige until I dabbed it with mist.

Eons ago I had alcohol inked one of the Tim Holtz Pen Nibs, but it didn't end up working for the project at hand. I hoard a stash of elements I create/color/alter that don't make it onto my projects, then have items ready to go when the "right" project comes along.

I cut a few paper strips to place behind the cluster, then spritzed across the card with purple mist.

A couple of the flowers are dry brushed with the same mist.

Once the mist was dry I splattered with black and whited drawing inks.

As you can see from this angle, there's lots if dimension.

I adore coloring resin pieces to coordinate with my cards. Here's a little hint. I find that a light coat of white gesso creates a great base for the color. The color seems to absorb into the resin if not gessoed.

One final look.

I hope you've been inspired to use up some of those left over products
from recent projects before they become ancient hoarded stash!

Your next stop on the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop is the talented Donna Idlet. If you have dropped by my blog and would like to start at the beginning, be sure to hop on over to Gloria's blog HERE.

  9. The card is beautiful. I love the purple! The story about the pen nib is one I know well! I have a small bin of "discards" that I dig into from time to time. They are things that I have made (flowers) or things I altered, like your nib, or things I glittered...and then did not use. So they go to the "bad embellie bin" to wait for just the perfect moment. hee hee
