My style has always been a mix of feminine and grungy elements, so Donna's mixed media "Girlie Grunge" products are perfect for the projects I adore making. Today I'm sharing an oval paper mache box I decorated to use as a sweet trinket box. A perfect place to hide away some of my little metal embellishments. It would also make a lovely gift.

I have created a DIY Video Tutorial for my Girlie Grunge Denim Rose - scroll down to view. This rose is easy to make and would be adorable on a card, scrapbook layout, or home decor project.

Please scroll down for my DIY video tutorial for this Girlie Grunge Denim Rose, using Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Canvas Ribbons (denim ribbon), Lace Ribbons, and Dodz™ XL.

The sweet denim leaves are cut from Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Pennant Set (denim pennant) using her Spellbinders Rose Creation dies, then dry brushed lightly with white gesso.

I added Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® gold Pigment Powder to light molding paste to stencil this flourish design across the top of the box lid.

The gears are cut from black cardstock using Donna's Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets dies. I mixed Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® gold and brown pigment powder into matte medium to create a metallic paint, then took a small portion of that and added her blue Pigment Powder for a patina effect. I rubbed this paint across the gears. This such an easy and inexpensive way to add metal looking gears to any project. No one can believe they are made of cardstock!

Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® 3D Foam Swirls are so versatile!! I sprinkled them with Donna's Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter, then heat set with Jasmine Embossing Powder, and finally rubbed very lightly with her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blue Pigment Powder.

I've used the looped lace from Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Lace Ribbons package around the edge of the lid. I colored it by rubbing her Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® brown, gold, and blue pigment powders into the lace. It's adhered with Home & Hobby by 3L® ~ Premium Double-Sided Tape - 1/8" Permanent. I adhered the tape to the back of the solid top strip of the lace, removed the backing paper, and pressed the lace onto the box. So easy!!

I used more of the colored molding paste to stencil the box base and the bottom portion of the lid. Be careful not to use texture paste around the top of the box where the lid goes on. The added dimension would make it difficult for the lid to fit.
